Baja SAE is an international collegiate competition, where teams of students design, build, and race off-road cars. Each season has three competitions, and each competition has multiple parts to test the cars’ durability, speed, handling, etc. Points are awarded to teams according to their performance in each course, and the team with the greatest number of points at the conclusion of the season is crowned "1st Place Iron Team.”
Cornell Baja Racing represents Cornell University in the competition. We are a highly collaborative team of 60 students across all grade levels, though primarily from the Duffield College of Engineering, with a passion for automotive design and manufacturing. Projects are divided amongst members according to their skills and interests.
The 2025 Baja season was especially important for our team. It not only marked the first time that our team won 1st Place Iron Team, but also only the second time in Baja SAE’s 50 year history that the 1st place team also won each competition.
