Summary

The CVT guard protects the transmission from dirt & debris while offering shielding should any part come loose. The CVT guard is a required part per competition regulations, and there are strict rules as to its construction and dimensions.

Testing & Development

  • Temperature Testing

    In order to determine how temperature dissipation of the transmission should play a role in my design, I placed temperature-sensing stickers along the inside of our previous car’s CVT Guard before it ran at a competition. The data collected guided where I would place ventilation holes, should we make a version of the guard with them.

    The finalized CAD as the guard will be produced.
