University Projects

Intro to Mechanical Engineering

This class culminated in the design, manufacture, and competition of battery-powered cars. I had such an incredible time in this course that I decided to return as a TA. I taught a class of 15 students the basics of CAD, woodworking, 3D printing, and laser cutting so that they can build the car of the dreams. I also attended weekly meetings and held office hours to answer student questions, homework/lab related or otherwise.

Lab has been my favorite part of this semester and has really kept me going. I don’t know what I would have done without this welcomed break. Also Adam is a legend!

Baja car’s seat

Though not my assigned project, I manufactured the vehicle’s seat by cutting, laying, and vacuuming multiple layers of carbon fiber and Kevlar over a custom mold designed around the dimensions of our driver.

My team’s car when I was a student, which despite having the smallest footprint, came in 2nd place in the tug-of-war competition.

High School Projects

The Classic Critic

As one of the founding members of our school’s new newspaper, I focused on making tech articles engaging for teens. I wrote over 20 published opinion articles and photographed and/or illustrated for 15. Click the images to read.

I also connected with reputable technology accessory brands, such as Spigen, from who I received around $300 worth of tech accessories to review.

Key Club

Throughout my time in high school, I participated in Key Club, which is an international volunteering program aimed at having students connect with their surroundings through acts of community service. Altogether, I committed 175 hours to community service projects through Key Club and attended state-level Key Club conferences.

Code Tiers

In summer 2022 I taught a virtual intermediate CAD class to 30 students from across New York State. I crafted interactive lessons where I could demonstrate how to create complex parts and assemblies, develop 3D animations, and learn the proper practices ofvarious modeling techniques.

Art

As an elective in my freshman year of high school, I chose to practice digital drawing. Through this class I developed an appreciation for sketching and modeling, which is a practice that I continue to use today before starting a CAD of my part on Baja Racing.

One of the first pieces I made in the class and one that I am especially proud of. The assignment was to draw a collection of school supplies we have at home.
